Ask us the
hard ones.
If the question isn't here, it's probably in How verification works or Pricing. Still stuck? hello@ctfy.app.
Is my money safe?+
Yes. CTFY only sees your trading data — never your funds. Extended accounts connect via a read-only API key (the key literally cannot place trades or move funds). Hyperliquid accounts connect via public wallet address only — no key at all. We never have signing authority and we never custody funds. Subscription payments settle atomically to your payout wallet through Circle's on-chain rails — we don't hold them either.
What can CTFY do with my API key?+
Read your fills, positions, transfers, and account equity. That's the entire scope of a read-only Extended key — the exchange enforces it at the API layer. If we ever asked for a write-enabled key, you should walk away. We don't, we won't, and the connect flow rejects any key that isn't read-only.
Can CTFY move funds if my computer is compromised?+
No. CTFY's server-side has no keys that can sign transactions on your behalf. Even if an attacker had full access to CTFY infrastructure, they could not initiate a trade or withdrawal on your DEX account. The read-only guarantee is enforced by the exchange, not by us.
How is the rating computed?+
Weighted composite: Profitability (30%), Consistency (20%), Risk Management (25%), Longevity (15%), Confidence (10%). Profitability blends risk-adjusted return (Sortino) with raw ROI. Consistency scores win-rate stability + streak analysis. Risk Management rewards shallow drawdowns and high Sharpe. Longevity + Confidence together are the 'small sample shrinker' — a 5-trade lucky streak can't top the leaderboard because Confidence collapses the score toward neutral.
Why isn't a huge ROI enough to get an A?+
Because ROI without context is manipulable. A 5-trade winning streak with 500% ROI could be pure luck; a 500-trade record at 50% ROI with a controlled 12% drawdown is the real skill. The Confidence component shrinks small samples, and Risk Management penalizes big drawdowns. That's why the same nominal ROI can produce very different grades.
How often does my rating update?+
Fills and positions update in near real-time (WebSocket + 8s REST poll). The rating recomputes on every sync — every 8 seconds while the worker is running, and once per day via cron as a belt-and-suspenders safety net. Grade changes show up on your profile within a minute of the underlying trade activity.
What does it cost to use CTFY?+
$2.99/mo platform access in USDC. Connecting a trading account is free. Follower subscriptions to individual traders are priced by each trader — the trader keeps 95%, platform takes 5%. Payments settle in USDC on Base via Circle's CCTP.
How do subscription payouts work?+
When a subscriber pays a trader, the smart contract splits the payment atomically: 95% to the trader's payout wallet, 5% to the platform. No invoices, no monthly reconciliation, no waiting. Traders can elect a payout chain — Circle's CCTP routes the funds to any of 8 supported chains in seconds.
Which chains can I pay from?+
Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, Unichain, Linea. Burn USDC on any of them; Circle CCTP mints on Base within ~15 seconds and the platform splits it 95/5. You cover gas on the source chain (usually cents on L2s).
Can I get a refund?+
Subscriptions are per-month and non-recurring — you actively choose to renew. If a trader stops trading mid-month you retain the access you paid for through the end of that month. There's no automatic refund for a slow trading week; that's the trader's judgment, not a platform failure.
What happens if I blow up an account?+
It stays on your record. That's the point. The 3-accounts-for-life rule means you can't disconnect a losing account and pretend it never happened — every trade from account creation stays visible until you unregister the account (which permanently consumes the slot). This is the mechanism that makes the leaderboard mean something.
Which exchanges are supported?+
Hyperliquid (via public wallet address — no API key needed) and Extended on StarkNet (via read-only API key). Hyperliquid coverage includes native perps AND builder-deployed perp DEXes like Hyperliquid Equity Perps (xyz:GOOGL, xyz:AVGO, etc.). More venues will be added as they meet the read-only-verifiable bar.
Can I hide my identity?+
You pick your handle. You pick your display name. You pick whether to link a social account for extra pseudo-KYC signal. What you can't do is hide the trades — those are on-chain, and once you connect an account CTFY publishes the full record for anyone to verify against the exchange.
Still curious? Try it.
The leaderboard is free to browse. Every rating on it is auditable against the exchange it came from.
